I was recently awarded two blog awards, which I’m finally getting round to posting about!

First up is the Versatile Blogger Award, which I was given by LuckyLoveNails.  Thank you very much!

I read blogs more for nail art than swatches, so the blogs that I’ve nominated are because they’ve done some amazing nail art.  I know some of the blogs already have these awards (most of the blogs I follow do, so I couldn’t choose all ones that don’t!) but I’ve tried to make sure there’s a few new ones in there as well.

Seven random facts about myself:

1. I can’t eat jelly because the way it wobbles really freaks me out.
2. I can’t bend my big toes.
3. I’m scared of butterflies.
4. I despise coriander.
5. I have a younger sister who literally does not stop talking (we’ve even offered her money in the past to shut up for 5 minutes, but she just can’t do it).
6. In our free time, my boyfriend and I play lego games on the xbox (we are epic at them).
7. I can’t swim (I don’t float).

Because I’m lazy, I’m just going to add 4 more facts to the 7 above (because thinking off 18 facts about myself is far too difficult).

8.      I’m a physicist.

9.      I have a german shepherd named Bailey, and she is literally the best dog ever.

10.  I was a teacher for a year – it was awful.

11.  When I was about 7, I got two goldfish, so I stopped eating fish (this made perfect moral sense to me at the time), and I still can’t bring myself to eat it.

Here are the questions Beauty Ninja set to be answered:

1.      What’s in your makeup bag right now?

Literally all the makeup I wear, all squeezed in there.  It’s all Max Factor, and it’s all covered in powder after the lid broke...

2.      What form of eyeliner do you prefer and why – gel, pencil or liquid?

I’m rubbish at applying eyeliner, so I just use a pencil on my lower lash line.

3.      Why did you start blogging?

I used to just post photos of my nails on Facebook.  I started reading more and more nail blogs, and I figured I might as well start one.  Also, I’d just finished my teaching course and I had a lot of spare time on my hands – boredom was an issue.

4.      Do you have any pets?  What are their names?

As I said, I have a dog called Bailey.  Earlier this year I also had two bubble eye goldfish called Oscar and Napoleon, but they...er...didn’t last very long.

5.      What is your favourite food?

This is very difficult, because anyone who knows me knows that I loooove food.  My favourite cuisine would probably be Mexican – it’s so cheesy and spicy and full of deliciousness.

6.      What is your favourite vacation spot?

I haven’t really been on holiday for years, so I couldn’t really say.  Of the places I went when I was younger, Portugal was probably my favourite.  Quiet, hot and stunning coastline J

7.      What blog do you look forward to reading every single day?

I just read everything that comes up on my Blogger feed, but I guess the one I get most excited about when it pops up is Chalkboard Nails – she does some fantastic nail art.

8.      If you could buy any luxury beauty product, what would it be?

I’d probably go for quantity over quality if I had the money (i.e. lots and lots of OPI, rather than the quarter of a million dollar polish with diamonds in).

9.      Who is your favourite makeup artist?

I don’t know any!

10.  What would your dream profession be?

I went through a few when I was younger – archaeologist, marine biologist, teacher, forensic scientist...  I got over most of them, and I tried teaching.  In September I’m starting working as a Medical Physicist, and that’s what I really want to do at the moment, so I guess that’s my dream profession right now.

11.  What are your daily makeup items that you can’t live without?

Just Vaseline, if that counts.  I don’t wear makeup unless I’m going somewhere special – I always convince myself I don’t look that bad without make up, until I see photos.
