Wavy Stamping

Three days until hen do number one!  Need to figure out what I'm going to do on my nails.  Should probably work out what I'm going to wear first...hmmm...

Aaaaanyway, today I have a pretty little Revlon polish to show you.  This is Revlon Popular, which I think is also known by another name, but I can't for the life of me think what.  I picked this up from Fragrance Direct - if you've never bought from there, go now!  The colour range tends to be a bit limited, but they are super cheap.

It's actually a lot prettier than I was expecting (what? No, I didn't just buy it because it was cheap and I have no self control!).  It's a super super soft pink base with different size silver hex glitters.  I don't really know whether to call this a jelly or a creme....which I suppose makes it a crelly?  Above is three coats with no undies, and as you can see, no problems with VNL!

Then, because my first MoYou London plates had recently arrived, I decided to do a bit of stamping.

This is from the Sailor Collection Plate 4, stamped with Konad stamping polish.  I wanted something a little chunky that wouldn't be lost amongst the glitter...although then I felt a little sad that so much of the polish was covered up!  Some people are just never happy :p

Also, can I just add, I stamped EVERY nail.  That is quite the achievement for a rubbish stamper like me.

Unfortuntely, I just looked on the MoYou website to check which number plate this was and..er...well I think I have to go buy a few more plates now...

Duochrome Leopards

Wouldn't it be awesome if duochrome leopards actually existed...?  Can't help but feel my nails are a bit of a let down now compared to these imaginary leopards!

I picked up a couple of the Revlon Chroma Chameleons a little while back, because a brand new polish collection being available in Poundland is just too much for me to resist.  Amongst the many I bought was Amethyst, a light purple with a green-greyish shift.  I wanted something a bit more than just a plain manicure in a hurry, so I decided a quick leopard print over this would fit the bill nicely!

I did these quickly before we went out, so the photos are from the next day - apologies for the dints and little chipped corners!

It's a very pretty subtle shift.  For a little bit more oomph you can use it over black as well, which helps to deepen the colours.  Not bad for a pound, although unfortunately I've come to expect a little more from multichromes thanks to the likes of Picture Polish and Hits!

Whimsical Half Moons

Happy Saturday!  Yay for weekends!

Today I have a polish to share with you that I have lusted after FOREVER (or since I started reading nail blogs at least).  It's the lovely Revlon Whimsical that I won in a giveaway hosted by Marisa at Polish Obsession, along with Orly Steel Your Heart, which I used in this jigsaw manicure.  Do check out Marisa's blog - she's got fabulous swatches and some really pretty wintry nail art :)

I'd read on blogs in the past about people being disappointed with Whimsical because it was so sheer, so I decided to layer it over a polish.  I whipped out my Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream, and was all ready to go, when I decided that actually Whimsical is a bit more green than that.  So I got out my OPI Mermaid's Tears, but Whimsical's a bit more blue than that...  It's a very interesting colour, to look at it I'd definitely say it was blue, but it's definitely got a green tinge to it when you compare it with other blues.

Anyway, I decided that since the hint of green was so interesting, I'd go with Mermaid's Tears to bring out the green a little more.  Here's what I ended up with.

So this is OPI Mermaid's Tears with three coats of Revlon Whimsical (look at those pretty glitters!).  Then I decided to bring out the pink glitters a little more with some half moons painted on in Barry M Bright Pink.  This is the first time I've tried painting half moons on on top of my design, rather than using hole reinforcers - how do you think I did?

Thank you again Marisa for this gorgeous polish!

What nail polish have you been lusting after recently?

31 Day Challenge - Day 17: Glitter

Happy Sunday lovely people!

We're all feeling a little delicate today...  Last night we had a meal for Canadian Thanksgiving, and much wine was consumed.  Much much wine in the case of my boyfriend.  Bless him, it's been a hard day...  However, despite my hands being occupied stuffing a constant stream of carby foods into my mouth today, I managed to do my nails.  The uni work wasn't quite so successful.

So here are my glitter nails for day 17 of the 31 day challenge (14 to go!).

This is four coats of Revlon Radiant (I think this is also called Mosaic?), with a few stickers stuck on.  A proper lazy day mani lol.  Radiant is made up of blue glitter, with some larger green and silver hexes.  Very pretty.  Next time I wear this I'll use a colour underneath; I just wanted to see if I could get it opaque.

Next up in the challenge is a half-moon manicure.  I haven't tried this technique before, but I've successfully nicked some stickers off my sister for it.

Since you can never have too much glitter, take a little looksy at all the other manicures today:
